Overview

The name comes to my Tree through my Mother-In-Law Florence Emily Steatham.

This is the most researched surname in my tree. It is significant because of it's rarity.

Everyone with the surname Steatham links back to a Robert Steatham (1775-1827), and as the name originated locally to me I have been able to see nearly all the records first hand.

Except for Steathams born in the last few years and Steathams over the years who died before they became recorded by a Census, all the rest I have through, St Caths records, the Census, Church records and Wills.

Current Status

The tree is almost complete but I am missing some of the burial places for Steathams.

The data is held in Brothers Keeper genealogical software program.

I can create descendent or ancestor reports in MS Word or in graphical format.

The Future

I will be writing again to all Steathams in the UK telephone directory (I did this last time in 1998).

I am very interesting in obtaining copies of anything related to steathams, such as photos and letters, in fact anything that we can preserve for the future about Steathams.

Steatham is one of the rarest surnames in the UK as such we need to preserve what we can before it's to late.
