My Grandmother's, Mary Ann Phillips, birth certificate says that her Mother's name is Mary Ann Snape.

All other records, Baptism, Census and marriage records say that her mother's name was Louisa.

This is odd to say the least. Mary Ann herself was the first born child, and it was normally the case then to name the first girl after the Mother.

I am particularly interested in finding out anything about the people mentioned above.
