Overview

The name comes to my Tree through my Father In Law Kenneth Albert Reynolds.

Although not a surname that occurrs early on in the main tree, it is significant because of the number of groucotts in the Stafford area and the number of individuals researching the Groucott surname.

There are variants such as Grocotts and so on, but after about 1800 the surname standardises as Groucott

I have researched the surname extensively in Baswich Church records. Other researchers have also given me their data on Groucotts; in particular those who have moved away from the Stafford area.

Current Status

The groucott tree is large and it branchs to Australia & New Zealand.

The data is held in Brothers Keeper genealogical software program.

I can create descendent or ancestor reports in MS Word or in graphical format.

The Future

I am very interesting in obtaining copies of anything related to Groucotts, such as photos and letters, in fact anything that we can preserve for the future about the groucott name.

We need to preserve what we can before it's to late.
