Karnak Temple - Hatshepsut, Queen of Egypt
1504-1482 BC.
Queen Hatshepsut of the 18th dynasty was one of the few female pharaohs of Egypt.
When she finally died and Thutmoses III took to the throne, his vengeance was swift:
All drawings depicting her were erased from all temples and mortuaries.
The Gods pouring the keys of life over her head in the Karnak temple illustrate this.
